Student Accessibility Services

Housed within the Student Support Services (SSS) office, the Student Accessibility Services Coordinator advocates for students with accommodative needs, ensuring that they receive the appropriate accommodations and full access to the college experience.


Students applying for Accommodative Singles or Permission to live off campus as an Accommodation should be aware that due to limited physical staffing as a response to COVID-19, your request may take a bit longer to be reviewed. We ask for your patience and understanding. How Do I Qualify?

To qualify you must register with the Student Accessibility Services Coordinator in the SSS Office. Once registered, you remain qualified until graduation.

SUNY Plattsburgh fully supports the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and works individually with each student to meet their specific accommodative needs.

What Services Can I Expect?

Although each student’s needs are individually evaluated and planned, the following list is some of the common accommodations available:

  • Extended time examinations
  • Note-taking services
  • Tutoring
  • Alternative print access
  • Access route training/mobility services
  • Registration of emotional support animals
  • Accommodative housing
  • Advocacy services
