Checklist for Graduates


Spring 2020


Prior to Commencement

  • Meet with your advisor to verify eligibility to graduate. This can be done at the beginning of the spring semester.
  • Apply to graduate by completing formal Graduation Application to guarantee your name will be included in Commencement program. There is no guarantee that the names will be included if you wait until the last minute to apply. You will be allowed to still participate in the commencement ceremony. Follow this link for more information about applying for graduation.
  • Sign up for Spring Commencement Exercises if you also plan to walk on stage. You must register to walk on stage and attend the correct ceremony.

April 2020

  • Attend the Spring Graduation Expo. At the Expo, you can purchase caps and gowns, commencement announcements, class rings, diploma frames and other gift items relating to Commencement.
  • Order honor society cord through College Store.
  • Purchase graduation announcements (if you wish) at the College Store in Saranac Hall.

May 2020

  • Make last minute purchase of academic regalia (bachelor’s degree approximately $42; master’s degree approximately $42 cap/gown and an additional $42 for a hood) at College Store. Prices are subject to change.
  • Pick up name cards and honors cards, if applicable, at Angell College Center Information Desk the week before commencement.
  • Attend Commencement Reception. Family and friends invited.

Commencement Day

Saturday, May 16, 2020

  • Doors to Field House Gymnasium open to guests at 8 a.m. for the morning ceremony and 1 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony.
  • Degree candidates assemble in the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Area at the Field House by 8:15 a.m. for the morning ceremony and 1:15 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony. Please bring academic regalia with you.
  • For those unable to pick up name cards and honors cards, if applicable, during the week prior to Spring Commencement, pick up name cards at the Will-Call Window in the Lobby of the Field House and complete.

Winter 2020


Prior to Commencement

Fall 2020

  • Meet with advisor to verify eligibility to graduate.
  • Apply to graduate by completing formal Graduation Application to guarantee your name will be included in Commencement Program. There is no guarantee that the names will be included if students waits until the last minute to apply. You will be allowed to still participate in the commencement ceremony. October 2020

  • Attend the Winter Grad Expo. At the Expo, you can purchase caps and gowns, commencement announcements, class rings, diploma frames and other gift items relating to Commencement.

November 2020

December 2020

  • Make last minute purchase of academic regalia (bachelor’s degree approximately $42; master’s degree approximately $42 cap/gown and an additional $42 for a hood) at College Store. Prices are subject to change.
  • Pick up name cards and honors cards, if applicable, at Angell College Center Information Desk, the week before commencement.
  • Attend Commencement Reception. Family and friends are invited.

Commencement Day

Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020

  • Doors to Field House Gymnasium open to guests at 9 a.m. for the commencement ceremony, ceremony starts at 10 a.m.
  • Degree candidates assemble on the upper level of the Stafford Ice Arena by 9:15 a.m. for the lineup. Please bring academic regalia with you.
  • For those unable to pick up name cards and honors cards, if applicable, during the week prior to Winter Commencement, pick up name cards at the Field House Will-Call Window and complete.
